About yukiko

Yukiko grew up in Northern Japan as the daughter of a successful, multi-generational family of entrepreneurs. 

the age of seven, she started seeing her uncle, who was a dentist and He introduced her to foreign movies and music which opened up her horizon. On one of those days, she met a junior high teacher on the train. Later, he became her academic mentor.

Yukiko decided to study abroad while in University under an American professor's influence. She earned a scholarship from the International Rotary Club from her hometown and studied communications and photography in America. After her graduation, she went back to Japan, volunteered at the Rotary club, and learned the business under one of the club members.

AFter She came back to the states and worked as a wedding manager at a portrait studio in ca. Later, she decided to open up her studio.

Sponsored by the Rotary Club, later, she held her first exhibition called "I came home" in Japan.

Yukiko believes in the power of storytelling and approaches photography with a "zen" mind = harmony and minimalism in every content she makes.

She lives in Orange County, CA with her husband, son, daughter, and two cats.
