Yukiko was born in Japan and grew up in the city of Morioka, which is in the northern prefecture of the main island. Inspired by her American proffessor, Ron Zavislak, at Kanagawa University in Yokohama, Yukiko decided to go to the U.S. to explore her potentials.

With the aid of a Rotary Club Scholarship, she entered California State University, Fullerton as a communications major where she found her passion for photography. She attained a degree specializing in Photojournalism and worked as a photographer for various newspapers, such as the Daily Pilot and the Claremont Courier.

Yukiko's desire to photograph people grew and she began a career in portrait and wedding photography at Yuen Lui Studios, Inc.. Her strong will and determination for success soon led Yukiko to start her own business,
